We got our English Cream Golden Retriever, almost a year ago. Brooklin Canine has been an incredible breeder and resource for us throughout this first year. Our puppy has not only been healthy, but has a calm sweet fun disposition. She’s super trainable with a giant heart! We are blessed to have found Brooklyn Canine because they have been there for us throughout the entire process. Prepping us before we got the pup, with information to help the transitional stage. This breeder takes exceptional pride in breeding their dogs as well as caring deeply for the dogs’ welfare when entering their new homes. We adopted an 8mo Aussiedoodle from a shelter in Oregon. She had no training of any kind, she bit us, ripped our cloths, jumped on everyone and everything. She was totally out of control. She was so bad we took her back to the shelter. Our hearts were aching, we'd never given up on a dog and we weren't going to this time, so we went back and got her. After numerous, books and classes both in person and online, with little results, we were referred to Jessica at Brooklin. She trained us and the dog. Jessica gave us insights to the dog, training material and homework. We saw improvement with Ziggy after the first session. Our visitors are amazed with how well mannered Ziggy is. We are proud that on July 11th, 2024 Ziggy passed the AKC Canine Good Citizen certification test. This would not of happened without the expertise of Jessica at Brooklin Canine. We sincerely recommend Jessica and are looking forward to continuing Ziggy-training.

I am very happy to have gone with Brooklin Canine for training. She took a 6 week old puppy that didn't like having a collar on to a 5 month old that loves car rides and going for walks, allows me to clip her claws, like baths, and playing with other dogs. Still a little shy when meeting new people. Private lessons worked best for us as my schedule changes at a moments notice. Very happy with what we learned and the progress our puppy has made.

Very Effective Training Strategy I discovered Jessica of Brooklin Canine on the AKC site after several unsuccessful attempts at training my Cavalier King Charles. From our initial consultation, it was clear her approach was different. We started day training at home, where Jessica marked desired behaviors, laying a solid foundation for future commands. After a few sessions, Archie had learned many new skills, and we began meeting in public to reinforce his behavior in various settings. Jessica is flexible, adapting the training to Archie’s needs and regularly checking in on our progress. She is also readily available for any questions or concerns between sessions, and she generously shares her knowledge and offers invaluable advice. For more serious behavioral issues, I enrolled Archie in Jessica's Board and Train program. Throughout his stay, she kept me updated with videos and texts, and I knew he was treated like family while he stayed in her home. Archie returned with many new skills and improved behaviors. In 30 years of pet ownership, I have never encountered a better trainer. I wholeheartedly recommend Jessica with Brooklin Canine.

We have had Goldens for more than forty years. Obviously we are in love with this beautiful, smart, happy, loving breed. Last October we lost a wonderful old girl and instantly felt the void in our lives. Our friends at the renowned Honor Golden Retrievers were between litters. They recommended that we contact Jessica Merkowsky at Brooklin Canine in Washington State. I called Jess on her cell while she was flying some place to deliver a trained pup. We talked, she sent me texts and pictures (GREAT pictures). We talked some more. I filled out paperwork. And we’re off. I live in Missouri. Everything was done long distance. Jess agreed to keep our new little Monty and train him to be a good citizen for six months while we took care of previous commitments. All along the way she sent us pictures of our little guy. Monty is gorgeous. At the end of six months Jessica flew with him to our house where she spent two nights with us, introducing us to the little dude and him to our other Goldens. It all could not have gone more smoothly. Monty is a pretty boy with excellent conformation and the legendary Golden disposition. He simply blended.right in. The other dogs quickly taught him the ropes. Important things like who sleeps on Dad’s side of the bed and who snuggles onto Mom’s. Jessica is lovely and completely committed to maintaining and advancing the amazing qualities of these fabulous dogs. She and her beautiful family give a pup the best possible start.

Have you ever spent time with someone you know has amazing energy? When I met Jessica and she told me what she did, we were picking out winter jackets for our dogs. I patiently waited for 2-months until her schedule freed up for us. I knew she would be worth it. With a snap, a point, a kitch sound in her cheek (as one uses to say giddy-up to a horse) Jessica had Sydney walking, sitting, speeding up, slowing down, staying down, leaving it and so much more! We have a very smart dog and Jessica offered us multiple ways to keep her engaged, challenged and her mind and body in shape while we both managed at home jobs. We met her at parks, in the mall, in large department stores, restaurants and more to ensure all behaviors were in check. If I had a non annoying blinking billboard, I’d have her name on it. If the Till Tuesday song, “Voices Carry” were true and I could shout from the rooftops about how incredible she is, her work ethic, her character, her skills and her demeanor and her absolute gift with dogs (and truth be told, my husband too.).. Save your dog from the embarrassment of not behaving properly in public and schedule your sessions with Jessica immediately! She’ll have you and your dog sitting, holding and let’s go’ing in no time! We recently moved to the area and our 5 yo GSD started to revert back to her old ways when we rescued her, I was not very confident that at this age she would be able to knock them but ready to try anything. Well Brooklin Canine came to the rescue and we are back to normal and better. I recommend 10/10!!!!

Our whole experience with Jessica and Brooklin Canine exceeded all of our expectations. I was recommended to Jessica from a local, well known breeder because I was looking for a ‘unicorn’ of a dog; one that is calming and sibling-like for my only child daughter as well as cool and collected to be able to go to work with me at my hair salon. We had always wanted a golden retriever so when Jessica confirmed with me the demeanor of her puppies, I was relieved. It was 100% worth it that our dog stayed with Jessica, in training, until she was 6 months old. The dog achieved her all three of her AKC tests. When Jessica arrived in our home with our dog, she stayed for 2 nights, which really helped everyone get acclimated. During that time she showed me how to use simple commands with our new pup as well as the service dog vest. The night before she left we took the dog out to dinner with us and were complimented with “that is the most well behaved dog I have ever seen” from a stranger! Jessica is our fairy dog mother and we can’t recommend her and Brooklin Canine enough!

We got our beautiful new Golden Retriever, Shiloh from Jessica of Brooklin Canine a month ago. We decided to get one of Jessica’s puppies in April 2023 after doing a lot of research to find a reputable breeder whose priority is breeding healthy intelligent Goldens with calm personalities. We told Jessica we wanted our puppy to have some initial training so he could be certified for volunteer therapy work. After discussing the various training options she offers, we decided to have her train Shiloh until he was about 6 mths old. It was the best decision we ever made when getting a new dog! Jessica has trained dogs all over the US and Canada for many years before she started breeding Goldens. She has such a calm loving approach with all her puppies, and the ones she trains stay in her home surrounded by her family, so they get steady socialization with her family as well as getting exposed to numerous public places. I can’t say enough positive things about Jessica! The entire process was fantastic. As much as I hated to miss the adorable early puppy stages with Shiloh, Jessica was great about staying in touch with updates, photos and videos of his progress. She was available and prompt in answering my numerous questions and she provided invaluable information about nutritional needs, training tips and various product recommendations for Shiloh’s care. We absolutely love Shiloh! His sweet mellow personality is exactly what we hoped for (Jessica picked him for us knowing what we were looking for). And the training Jessica gave him was amazing! Since he stayed until he was 6 mths old he not only knows basic skills, but he has many advanced skills as well as a couple AKC certifications. I can wholeheartedly recommend Jessica and Brooklin Canine!

We were so excited as she would FaceTime us and kept us involved with the growth of the litter. She prepared us for our new pup so when he arrived we were ready! I met Jessica at Costco while she was shopping. She had a beautiful dog with her. The dog had a vest on that said dog in training. I made arrangements with her to visit my dog Tucker to see if she would do a “Board and Train”. That is where the dog stays with the family for training. Tucker was young and a handful. She took him home and had him for 4 weeks. He was a completely different dog when he came home. It was a family affair. Her husband and 4 kids were involved in the training. He learned to be social with her dogs. She also took Tucker to several dog friendly stores. She even took him to IKEA. He learned how to walk on a leash and be with other people and act appropriately. He was very calm when he came home. He was very well behaved. So proud of him. We had a medical emergency about a month two later and she took him in for more training. I am so thankful for the whole family for taking such good care of Tucker. Tucker even learned how to walk on a dog treadmill. He also learned to walk with me while using my walker. I think this was the best decision that my husband and I made. Jessica is absolutely amazing! My dog Charlie was a rescue and was very anxiety ridden, he also started to pick up some bad habits.
